Taillight protector type #2

Kit containing two protectors (left and right) can be used on both sides, for NON-US taillights

Included in the kit: 

3D printed body with mounting flange for left and right.

• PETG-CF 10% (carbon fibre filled plastic) 

Stainless steel mounting hardware

• Two hex bolts M6x90 
• Two nuts, M6 with captive washer (oversized for stability) 
• Two hex bolts M5
• Two nuts M5

The centre bolt replaces the shorter BMW bolt to fasten the lights, it holds the light and the protector in place.. The smaller M5 bolts secure the flange to the BMW support bracket

Note: Some earlier-model rear light support brackets may not have the required 5 mm mounting hole.

Use the protector as template to mark the hole position, then drill the hole with a cordless drill.

The carrier is made of cast-aluminium, this should be an easy job.

The taillight rear section tends to vibrate. Therefore assembly requires the use of threadlocker  On the centre M6 bolt and nut. Loctite 243, or similar. A drop dispensed into each nut to secure it. ( If proper threadlocker is unavailable, nailpolish may be used.) M5 hardware is supplied with a spring washer.
